Secret Foreclosure Sales
Managing agents at FirstService Residential, operating as Red Rock Financial Services, secretly conducted foreclosure sales of SCA homeowners' properties — including the sale of 2763 White Sage Drive for just $63,000, a fraction of its $310K-$395K market value.
These sales were conducted without notice to the homeowners, their agents, or the general SCA membership. The Board was told approving these sales in closed session was necessary to “protect privacy” — but in reality, it concealed what was happening from the people who were paying the bills.
General Manager Overpaid $100K+
The General Manager was paid more than $100,000 above comparable market rates. This wasn't a reward for exceptional performance — it was a symptom of a management structure with no effective oversight.
Unnecessary Second Manager (CAM)
SCA employed a second Community Association Manager (CAM) whose role was supposed to protect homeowners but who instead served as another layer of management insulation. More managers didn't mean more protection — it meant more cost and less accountability.
Budget Controlled Without Owner Input
Management controlled the budget process without giving unit owners meaningful access to financial information. Staff had more power over how your dues were spent than the homeowners who paid them.
When residents asked questions, they were stonewalled. When Board members asked questions, they were told management “had it handled.”
